On February 16 and 17, 2024, an interdisciplinary scientific conference ‘Science, Technology and Law: Mutual Impact and Current Challenges’ was held at the University of Bologna, bringing together scientists and researchers from 16 countries from Europe, America and Africa.

During the conference, Prof. Natalia Mushak of DSK Law Firm gave a talk titled ‘The Use of AI Systems in Legal Practice.’ She discussed the legal regulation of AI and its applications by EU member states, spoke about the liability of operators and users, harmonization of the legal framework for liability claims, high-risk systems, and the use of AI in legal practice.

The theme of the conference was the relationship between science and law – in the context of historical evolution and contemporary challenges. The participants discussed the impact of technological advances on human rights, technology in the context of the environment and energy, and new developments and challenges regarding artificial intelligence and law, including European Union law.
